Project Description:
Based in the United Kingdom, OpenStreetMap is a collaborative, open source project to develop free geographic data like street maps using both manually entered data and automatic data collection and collation from portable GPS devices. It is a free editable map of the whole world. OpenStreetMap allows one to view, edit and use geographical data in a collaborative way from anywhere on Earth.

OpenStreetMap has put together all the GPS data it has in London and made a stunning poster from it, as portrayed in these images. The map shows the data submitted to OpenStreetMap of people walking, driving and cycling around London. So the thicker the lines, the more people traveled them.
