Project Description:
Marc Fornes works in London for Zaha Hadid Ltd as a project architect for the MIDR "Mediatheque de Pau" (developed in collaboration with Alvin Huang and Vincent Nowak) and is currently a teaching assistant at the Royal College of Arts in London.

In his website (theverymany.net) Marc Fornes shows a remarkable array of experiments using Rhino3D, a stand-alone, commercial NURBS-based modeling tool, originally developed by Robert McNeel & Associates as a plug-in for Autodesk's AutoCAD. His work is visually stunning and structurally inspirational, providing an appealing window into complex systems and structures. As defined by the author: "the very many" - is a simple assembly of three words : "definite article" (ie Explicit) + "adjective-modifier" (ie Variables) + "plural" (ie Multiplicity). Combined as a motto, it addresses contemporary cultures as complex and intricate systems.

As stated in his website, Marc's current challenge is the development of the first Self-supported large scale Carbon Fibre Roof Shell (3500m2).
