History of the World

Project Description:
Jeremy Deller was born in London in 1966 and studied art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art. Deller is best-known for his Battle of Orgreave (2001) and his installation Memory Bucket (2003) that won him the Turner Prize in 2004.

In "History of the World", an oversized graffiti flowchart, Deller depicts links between an array of words including, in no particular order, Acid House, Brass Bands, Civil Unrest, Deindustrialization, Advanced Capitalism, Ibiza, M25, Tonka, and such like, in an intricate mind map that aims to demonstrate how 'acid house' is linked to 'brass bands'.

I would like permission to use the image of Jeremy Deller in front of "History of the World" as part of a presentation I'm giving at the College Art Association's Annual Conference on Feb 19th. I will make sure to note permissions and authorship. Thanks. Ralph.p/a/r
