Project Description:
This visualization explores the results of the Human Microbiome Project, which spent two years cataloging the bacteria and microbes at different sites on healthy people. Microbes live in complex combinations of habitats in and on the human body, here displayed in a radial network visualization. Major nodes on the other circle represent the percentage frequencies of certain bacterial species in the tested people, while the phylogenetic trees (family trees) indicate how microbes are linked by their evolutionary histories.
