Project Description:
Eric Fischer tracked all of the information of Twitter accounts with geo-locations enabled, between May 17 and September 1, 2011. He tracked to whom people were speaking, based on the geotags of people @replying at each other, and also looked at where they were traveling by analyzing when and how their geotags changed. Discussions are rendered in purple, while green lines indicate travel. They overlap in white lines, suggesting connections between places with a lot of travel and cross-talk.
