On July 23rd, 2006, The New York Times released a detailed graph highlighting the strife and power in the New Middle East. In this graph all major nations involved in any type of conflict in the Middle East were mapped together with their descriptive links, which mentioned the nature and current condition of their relationships. The nations that appeared on the graph were: Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Bahrain, Qatar.Ethnic groups in each country (Sunni, Shiite, Other Muslim, Other) were also mapped and represented as colored circles denoting population. The map also showed where there was a critical control of oil wealth.
