Project Description:
This experimental data visualization platform translates the characteristics of wireless networks into sound. The platform streams the signal to a listener, who can then hear the changing landscapes of data. This map visualizes the wireless network landscape on a walk around BBC broadcasting House. The wider the shape, the stronger the network signal, where the color of the different shapes corresponds to the router's broadcast channel. An audio recording of the same walk follows, sounding similar to a layered series of Geiger counters.
